UMP West Modifieds Ready for Action at USA Raceway!
Kevin Montgomery Tucson, Arizona (July 19th, 2010) – The thunder rolls at USA Raceway as the stars of the Barnett Harley Davidson UMP West Modifieds gear up for high speed door to door racing action this Saturday night.
With the initial eight UMP West Modified events of the season in the books, reigning series champion RC Whitwell of Tucson, AZ, is out to the lead in the championship chase on the strength of a three wins.
Whitwell, the only driver with three feature wins, holds an 86 point advantage over fellow Tucson racer Dane Jorgenson while “The Big Un” Nick O’Neil currently sits third just eleven points behind Jorgenson. O’Neil joins The “Outlaw” Jimmy Ray as the only other drivers with multiple wins.
Ray captured his second $1000 triumph just two weeks ago by holding off a hard charging Whitwell. He is expected to make the trip from Las Cruces and will likely be traveling with the hot shoe Stormy Scott who will be looking to add a second notch to his belt and join the field of multiple winners.
The Factory Stocks return and join the Unifirst Super Stocks along with the mighty Hornets making for an action packed Saturday Night. The fun begins when general admission tickets go on sale at 4pm for only $12, racing will begin promptly at 6:45pm. Suite Access Passes will allow race fans the opportunity to enjoy the races from USA Raceway’s VIP Suite. Enjoy the races in luxury for only $25!
