Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Ariz., will kick off the 2013 racing season in fine style Saturday night with the first round of the seventh annual Wild West Shootout. The popular miniseries is expected to attract drivers from all over the country to the recently reopened dirt track to compete during five big nights of racing scheduled over the next nine days. Super Late Models headline the first two nights of racing on Saturday and Sunday with complete programs paying $3,000 to the winner each night. IMCA Modifieds, Super Stocks and Pure Stocks will also be in action. After a break Monday and Tuesday, action returns Wednesday with the IMCA Modifieds taking their turn as the headlining division. A practice night is scheduled for Thursday before the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Cars invade the 3/8-mile oval for a pair of $2,000-to-win events on Friday and Saturday with IMCA Modifieds, X-Mods and Modlites also in action.
General admission prices are set at $18 for each event with seniors and military receiving the discounted price of $15. Kids 7-11 are $5 while kids 6 and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $35 each day. Racing gets under way at 4 p.m. for each weekend event with gates opening at 1. Wednesday’s program kicks off at 7 with gates opening at 4.
