Huffman Hustles to Western States Stock Car Victory at USA

Kevin Montgomery, TUCSON, Ariz. (May 14, 2011) – Michael Huffman out dueled pole sitter Reed Veralud and multi-time Stock Car Champion Jody Henderson to claim his second consecutive Western States Stock Car Series win Saturday night at Tucson’s USA Raceway.

Huffman battled from his fourth starting position to take the point and held off several attempts from a host of competitors as he captured the 20-lap $300 to win Armed Forces Appreciation Night feature.  Huffman, who was able to take the championship point lead for the series, was chased to the line by Veralud and Henderson with Harvil and Parmeley rounding out the top five.

Huffman and Chris Tipton placed top finishes in Heat race action.

The Western States Stock Car Series, Arizona’s Premier traveling Stock Car Series, will be back in action on June 11th at USA Raceway as drivers from across the state compete for an unprecedented championship fund along with a $300 winner’s prize for each event.
