Herrera Joins New Mexico Contingent for USA Battle
Kevin Montgomery TUCSON, Ariz. (April 22nd, 2011) – Johnny Herrera has confirmed his plans to join Tijeras, New Mexico’s Josh Hodges for this Saturday’s Sunoco Fuel American Sprint Car Series battle at USA Raceway.
“Hollywood” Herrera, who won the opening round of the Copper on Dirt, will return this weekend and join a strong cast of contenders from the New Mexico territory ready to take on the tough Arizona outlaws in the third Annual Easter Eggstravaganza.
Hodges leads the fight from the east with 3-time Champion Rick Ziehl on his heels. John Carney II, who is currently third in points will team up with Kyle McCutcheon and Jody Williams and join the top contenders for the fight.
Arizona’s, Calvin Landis and teammate Josh Williams, will be on hand with smoking guns as Landis is fresh off his first ASCS win a few weeks prior. Landis will look to keep the Arizona outlaws on track with another victory this weekend and put a stop to Herrera’s strong hold on Southwest Regional victories.
The “Real Deal” Rick Ziehl remains winless in ASCS Wing Sprint Car bouts for the 2011 season and will enter Saturday’s battle with heavy artillery looking for his first victory of the year.
The 3rd Annual Easter Eggstravaganza featuring the high speed Wing Sprint Cars return to Arizona’s premier dirt track this Saturday night joined by USA Factory Stocks, X-Mods and ASCS2. General admission tickets will go on sale for only $15 for Adults, $12 for Seniors, Students and Military and racing will begin promptly at 6:45pm. Suite Access Passes will allow race fans the opportunity to enjoy the races from USA Raceway’s VIP Suite. Enjoy the races in luxury for only $30!
