Parker Jr. Leads Total Seal Late Models To USA Raceway
Kevin Montgomery TUCSON, Ariz. (March 15th, 2011) – The raw horsepower and excitement of full body cars and giant slide jobs returns to the Southwest Center of Speed this Saturday night as the Total Seal Dirt Late Model Racing Series prepares to take on the high speeds of USA Raceway.
Lonnie Parker Jr. leads the charge with a slight point advantage over one of Arizona’s winningest drivers, Anthony Madrid. Although Parker has remained winless through the first three rounds of competition that included two days of the Copper on Dirt and one round at Canyon Speedway Park, he will be one to beat when the Super Late Models roll out at USA.
Madrid, who struggled with mechanical issues at the Copper, bounced back to win his first Late Model feature of 2011 at Canyon Speedway two weeks ago holding off 2010 champion Ricky Thornton Jr. Thornton was not expected to defend his title but is currently making plans to be in Tucson this weekend trying to make some head way in the points chase as well as pick up his first Late Model triumph of 2011.
Ricky McGuire knocked off the first round of X-Mod competition and will join the cast of the UniFirst Super Stocks, Hornets and Dwarf Cars for their opening rounds of 2011.
